Played at the Maidstone Music Room a couple of weeks ago, with a guitarist, double bass player and a singer/guitar player. I enjoyed it. Long time since I have been to a live event. Even in a small space, amplifiers!

Yeh, I like what Snake does, I found Hysteria last year and have got a coupla transcriptions on the go from that, and recently got hold of Snakebites, good stuff, what I like about brit saxers is that they're not afraid to play in different styles and allow different influences to be apparant, whereas a lot of the "colonialists" tend to stick to recipes, any other tips for brit saxers would be appreciated. I've got some Andy Sheppard, Courtney Pine, Albie Donelly and am eagerly awaiting my first Pete Thomas (nudge wink). Living in europe it's easy to lose touch with what's happening on "the island".

funny you should mention Joe Harriot, Pete, one of my first 45rpm jazz EP's was from Joe Harriot, now that's over 40 years ago, maybe it's about time I got another one.

Apparently Soweto Kinch (UK, Alto sax from the Dune Jazz Stable) sounds a lot like him.

I have yet to listen to any of Joe Harriot's stuff though
