Mouthpieces Selmer MPCs what else?

As mentioned in another "Topic" I`ve just about given up waiting for my sop Selmer MPC. So I thought I would try other possibilities. Would you sop players kindly tell me what mouth pieces you are using? At least that way I can find out if stores stock them and give them a try. I`m looking for the least bright tone. The MPC would be for a Yanagisawa 981. Thanks Russ

Apart from my Selmer S80, the only mpc I've ever used on soprano is the trusty old Yamaha 4c, which works well for me. A 4c should be easy enough to obtain and will keep you going until the arrival of the elusive Selmer.

Same goes for me, I've only ever used a 4c and it's great! They're easy to get hold of and are cheap, a great backup if you... er.. somehow you manage to loose a mouthpiece?
Really I don't know why you'd want a backup mouthpiece, that was a stupid thing to say 😛

I use a Yanagisawa *5

Really Nice Mp, can produce quite a dark tone.... well its defiantly not bright anyway

Yamaha Ebonite Customs work really, really nicely on Sopranos in my opinion.. big 'n' mellow

Same as Jambo a Yani 5* - never had a moments trouble with it. I use it with a Vandoren Optimum lig and Alexander DC 3 reed. Lovely sound.

yanis are regarded as one of the best sop MPs, i don't have one, but a couple of friends of mine rave about them..

Well that is interesting and thanks for replies. So happens that the Yani 981 came with a Yani 5 but I bought a Yam 4C which I felt was a big improvement over it. The reason I ordered a Selmer was that in the shop when I tried out the sax they let me try the Selmer MPC (which was n`t for sale) as well, and I thought it was the best. Now I know I`m being picky here but the Selmer to me (if it ever comes) is only US$70 so for that price it`s worth a try and anyway I enjoy the experimenting. Russ :S

Only mine is an Yani SC901
