Mouthpieces Is this Selmer MP really worth £300? Why?

something does not add up with that mouthpiece and £300 is waaay over the odds for it, also noted that they have £30 standard international shipping fee?? are they for real as i had many bigger items shipped for much less and just recently a mouthpiece shipped using the same standard int. shipping fee process, but , oh, it was £8.80 and not that rip off £30 the buyer is blatantly trying to get extra money with.......i really get annoyed at sellers who put extra on shipping just to greed more money out of buyers so now i request a copy of the shipping papers and proof of cost......
I would avoid this mouthpiece as it seems a bit off the map in price and shipping, just a blatant rip off, .....

The reason I ask is that my recent SDA came with an identical one, with gold buffet lig and cap. I couldn't get on with it with a Marca Jazz 2 1/2 so think I may sell it (i'll keep the lig and cap!). Would its D facing be much different to my Yam 4C? Also tried an S80 C** which came with another sac and couldn't get on with that either, nor a previous C*?

Might try some different reeds before deciding to part company with both of these....

i think this shop does have tendency to price on the high side and this is high Soloists in D fetch about £225-250,i have just sold one to South Korean buyer and the Soloist style fetch less than the Soloist on the table but more than the modern Soloist on the side.

Hope this helps

The postage says £10. Perhaps they made an error and changed it.
i am not in the u.k and it comes up as £30... but still at £10 to send in u.k. is steep as that is more than the "real" regular int. shipping cost of £8.80 to send it abroad.
I usually aint too wrong with gut feelings and this listing is ringing the rip off bell for me.
but i aint gonna lose sleep over it seeing as i have no intention of buying it. 🙂

Hi Brian, mine is in exceptional used condition, only the microscopicist of marks on the bite plate. Is D a particularly rare one?
I wonder if it's the original MP supplied with the SDA, although I understand Buffet made their own MPs too?

I can't tell whether they came with the SDA's but how it works for Soloists is that the more open the the mpc the more they make.
So a "D" would be more popular, an "E" even more so.
Most Soloists and Soloist style's were produced in C* facing.
I think vintage Selmer mpc's have always sold well,so you shouldn't have any problems moving it on.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
