Really not so much to say about it. I worked with a guy and he was playing guitar in a punkband. He had also written a song about a dog. He asked me if I could play like a barking dog!! We tried and it worked. We did some other tunes as well. I was great. I could play as much as I liked and no reading. We were just four in the band (gtr, bs, drm & bari). We all like Ian Dury. We listend to his LP "New Boots and Panties" (his first, I think?) so it was around -77. The bari is a good intrument in small band, but we sounded terrible!! It was fun to play in that band.

Talking about British rock. Beside Springsteen, Southside Johnny, and later on Mink de Ville, I also listened a lot to Dave Edmonds , Nick Lowe, Graham Parker, Elivis Costello ... (Stiff records +++++). Great music.

The first sax I got was a bettered '25 Martin Handcraft. I had no idea what it was at the time so lent it to a friend and bought a Hanson SA-8.
Then I bought a Selmer prelude tenor, good horn did me well, sold it on this very forum.
Bought Pete's borgani '50s maybe? soprano as an impulse when I was saving for a Yani T902. Then found out about the Walstein tenor, proffered it and got two saxes in two months! Madness!

I then researched the Martin and found out what a great horn it 'should be'. Got it sorted out, and wow! Lovely horn!
Didn't get on with my Hanson once I'd started getting better, always had a few niggles that built up over time. In the process of selling as it's been replaced by an '83 Yamaha 62 which is lovely, though I did heavily consider the Walstein alto.

Mouthpiece wise I have 4. A 4C for soprano, tried loads and bever found one that improved upon it anywhere near a reasonable price increase ratio. An otto link tone edge 6, which I no longer use, instead I favor a Yanagisawa 6 which I'm opening up to a 7* equivalent when I get the funds. I use a otto link super tone master 6* on tenor which I thought I loved but really quite dislike. Looking towards ebonite pieces, especially RPC, Yanagisawa and Vandoren though money is an issue again, as well I want something more open like an 8*
