Saxello

[Bobby G]

I see from another thread that Griff has one, but what is a saxello?

I believe either Elton Dean or Karl Jenkins played one in Soft Machine, also Roland Kirk probably played one along with his many other horns, including a stritch. Which begs the second question, what is a stritch?

A saxello is basically a soprano that was designed by HN White & Co they made KING saxes.
This soprano was designed to be played sat down, the design is such that the non detachable crook is curved so that when sat down the right angled bell (see my avatar/pciture) could be rested on the seat.

here are a couple of pics of my saxello that is undergoing a full overhaul when I get the time that is!

Thanks for that Griff. I like the look of a saxello, it would suit me as I play seated quite a lot. Plus it's pretty in its own right.
