Problem with C 2 on Tenor sax?

Hi there.

My middle C just below the OK sounds very dull in comparison to the B before it and the D after it, both of which feel strong and resonant. I have checked superficially and nothing seems that amiss, but the sound is noticeable, both to my ears, and my teachers.

Any thoughts on what may be causing it would be really appreciated. It seems the only bum note I produce and is disappointing.

Thanks in advance for any helpful comments. My tenor is a Yanagisawa T901 and is approximately 6 months old. The sound of the C has always been noticeable.

Kind regards
Tom

Well the problem has been resolved by my changed set-up on Tenor - an all Francois Louis set-up (Mouthpiece/Basic Lig/Reeds which provides a much richer/more resonant sound than the Java I was using at the time.

Kind regards

You managed to sort the problem out all by yourself!
Just as well considering the amount of response you got, must be the shortest thread ever!!
Is there a moral here? Don't bother asking, and be led along many a dodgy path, but work it out for yourself. Saves time, and money!!!
