Mouthpieces Otto Link STM, are they supposed to squeak like a mouse.

I use a Rovner C-3ML MK III ligature on my Otto Link Super Tone Master 7* (Star) tenor mouthpiece - works a treat, certainly a lot better than the original ligature. The original ligature probably worked great 50 / 60 / 70 years ago when there was only one or two brands of reeds and basically the same profile, but with all these various brands of reeds and different cuts (American, French, Chinese? Peruvian? etc) nowadays the curved plate of the ligature doesn't fit the reeds properly...

I have a NY tenor mouthpiece and a selmer 404 ligature. It fits really nice and they play wonderfully.
There must be something going wrong with the mouthpiece. Sadly many modern otto links have poor finishing.

That's why it's always better to try before you buy one.

Hi. Taming it. Noticeably difficult to get low Bb. I noticed Coltrane has the same issue.
It’s a standard STM 5 reface to 6 to tidy it up. The ligature is the Selmer metal mouthpiece lig. I’m going to try some others.
