I can't see what the advantages of doing that are.

I'm guessing a statistical model of a thread is like; on subject and useful replies, gradually getting repetitive then veering off topic. The weight of relevant info falling off. So cutting off after a page might - statically - serve the most dense search info.

It’s all good ideas and I appreciate it but I’m not sure there is an algorithm or formula to deal with the randomness of UGC.

Well, in the next generation of search; threads like ours will certainly see AI enguins demanding therapy on company time. One can only hope.

This thread is not indexed though. Its only the saxophone and music threads that get indexed,

This is actually a very useful idea, I’m looking into how to implement something that can do this.

I have just been moving a few posts around to better places.

Again, if your posts gets moved please note that it isn't anything personal. It is done to help the Cafe survive by having good SEO. If we keep threads focussed then Google likes us and indexes the threads higher up.

If you disagree with your post/s being moved, please don't reclutter the thread by arguing about it on the thread, just contact me via DM or report the post so I can either explain, or else apologise and move it back if I did something wrong.
