Nothing but praise for this forum

yeah....you lot are so supportive. Living in the jungles of Southeast Asia there is no chance of a sax teacher, nor anyone else who even plays the sax. I'd be close to helpless without you all. And there are some people on this forum that spend a very great deal of time helping the rest of us..to you a very special thank you (we all know who you are). So happy I joined.

Half time and there we were, stuffing the Welsh as usual and I was watching on the tele thinking "you know, I just wish they could win at Twickenham once in 20-odd years". Anyway, to cut a long story short, I phoned the ground and had a quick chat with my mate Johnny and we agreed that it was time to let the buggers win. I wouldn't normally have told this story but I know that in these days of the paparazzi the 'truth will out' so I thought I would put the record straight before it was bent. Well done Wales but you needed my help ( yet again).

Now I have to leave this as I need to get back to persuading people to let Tim Henman have one more bash (which of course he will win). Then it's on to Eddie the Eagle, it little more difficult, perhaps.

Ah, a super diplomat's work is never done.

PS Ah yes, the forum. It's ok I suppose. Some say it's overrated, some say it's brilliant. Personally I think it's a front for a Satanist Saxophony Cult, hell-bent on persuading the world that guitarists are the Anti-Christ!

PPS This is Moz's wife speaking...sorry all, but Moz has been sedated; sometimes the Prozac doesn't always work as it should.

PPPS Hi, I'm back. Anyone going to the sax week at Knuston Hall is August?

They can't all be the Anti-Christ!!!! But then again- the fact that they are demons from the depths of the pit, sent to force sax players to pay for their sins by rendering us inaudible and generally winding us up- I always thought that was common knowledge....

I've got quite used to playing in F# and C# (and E), especially more bluesy styles where you're closer to the minor anyway. I have trouble thinking of them as Gb and Db, must be the guitarring part of my brain taking over as they are playing in keys with sharps in them.

A# doesn't sound right, that's always Bb to me so I'm not totally anti-flat.

Why is it that I can play without thinking in F# and C# but not in Gb and Db? Is anyone else anti b?

Well in those two keys I prefer sharps as well.

Uh huh! Quite happy with sharps, but when I see a flats i go into meltdown, especially when sight-reading. Even the enharmonic names give me trouble, I have to work them out rather than spontaneously knowing the synonym. Seriously though I think it has alot to do with the mild dyslexia I have, like remembering east and west, I still have to work it out at the age of 37.
