... but all you kind folk helped me out a lot when I chose my sax so I though I'd give you a brief update.
So it about six weeks and three lessons into my saxophone 'career'. It's been a mixed bag as you might expect but I'm pleased with my progress so far and what's more so is my teacher - though last night he told me I must persevere with a passage I'm finding a little difficult. I rather naughtily moved on as I was struggling with it.
There again, I tried it again today and I'm getting close to nailing it now where as if I'd just stuck to it I would perhaps have continued to be a little frustrated. Moving onto another piece I know better was easier.
Oh and Terry says I should start playing pieces I don't know as well as stuff I know well. I am playing tunes from the Beetles (All My Loving, Hey Jude), Rod Sewart's Sailing, Strangers in the night, Morining Has Broken and a couple more.
I've been running another topic on reading music and the suggestions I received have been helpful also and I am definitely getting better. Most of all I am enjoying it and am soooo glad I went for the Hanson SA-8 - it's a joy to play.
Any way I though I should update you all on progress to date. I have been so busy at work and practicing that I have had no time spare to post.
