Neck cork

I have just replaced the neck cork on my Buescher tenor using the instructions on Stephen Howard's excellent website.

I bought a piece of cork from someone via ebay and this evening did the job. It was a little tricky to get the contact adhesive to stick the cork on to the neck but eventually I managed to get it to stick. It's not the neatest job in the world but it is an improvement on what was there before. 🙂

Re the contact adhesive -
spread thinly on both surfaces (I use an old reed to "paint" it on)
leave it to "go off" (tacky to the touch) 2-3 mins depending on the climate.
press together - you should get a tight bond almost imeediately.
