I've looked around the forum for info on music lights but there isn't much that is still current. I have started to play piano again and want a light for the music as the ambient light is a bit iffy due to me facing a large window therefore making seeing the music quite awkward.

There are music lights out there but the choice is very large. Anyone got experience of a good music stand light they could recommend?

Guess I'm a bit late for this, but. My wife uses a mighty bright with 4 LEDs. Works well, but not bright enough for me. I ended up making my own from led strips, led controller lithium pack. I used aluminium sheet and wood to hold it all, and an unused cymbal stand as support. Works well, is dimmable and can be set far brighter than I need.

I bought this a few years ago at the Cardiff meet, it has variable lighting by touch, no complaints and still going strong

Same here, bought same light at same meet and it is better than one I have which is twice the size, and better than the clamp ones with two flexible arms with single led at each end. I'd still go brighter if I found one though.

The ones with two flexible arms do not illuminate a large enough area in my experience.
I have a Donner light with 9 LED's which is excellent, but they don't seem to sell them any more.
However there are several Chinese LED music stand lights that look very similar to mine.

Excellent, looks just the job. Just ordered one.

Arrived today and works a treat. Uses a USB cable (so you can plug it in to your phone charger) or three AAA batteries which are supplied. Nice touch-sensitive on/off and three-position dimmer. Very nice. Bought from Just Flutes for twenty quid (since seen it elsewhere at nineteen but hey ho).

I bought a couple of cheaper ones that just didn't do the job on gigs so I invested in a Mighty Brite Orchestral Light. They are even cheaper in the UK than over here. It has 9 LED's two power settings and can either be used with batteries or a plug in transformer.
I also have a MightyBrite with 9 LEDs. At home I run it on a USB power supply (phone/tablet/camera) or it runs on 3 AA batteries.
It’s really bright and lights the width of 3 pages of music .

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
