Mouthpiece jammed inside my sax

I just took delivery via ebay of an alto Keilwerth stencil and discovered that the mouthpiece somehow found its way inside the sax.


OK. never mind I just figured it out. I have been a bit slow today. must tbe the lack of sleep.

Mouthpiece is out.

One of the good things about padsavers is they can prevent MPs getting stuck inside. (Poke one inside to remove a MP.)

There's a few cases on the market that place the MP near the bell - especially some of the curved soprano cases. This can often lead to the MP going missing. Better to stick it in the compartment which should have a flap on top to keep stuff from emptying out.

I bought a box of reeds for a friend a while ago, but when we next played I couldn't find them.
Then I had all sorts of trouble getting a decent sound out of the bottom notes on my tenor.
Guess where the reeds were ...

I managed to play the whole first half of a gig with a reed, cork grease and a spare 9 volt battery all sat in the bell of my tenor! :whistle:
