being a bloke is not a bad thing, do not worry. however, it doesn't help me find out about the difference between model 26 and the new large bore.

I also boughta"back up" alto - New Largebor, buit not a cigar cutter - it has an octave/register mechanism more like the older Modele 28. When it arrived, it was not playable; pads were in terrible condition, and regulation was all out of whack. It is currently in the shop for a complete overhaul.

i would be very interested to know how you like the alto, since i played one for 35 years before i developed my SML obsession.... and my general habit of buying obscure european saxophones. just got a franz kohler 'empor' alto, by the way. horrible cardboard pads.

I was digging through my collection of donated instruments and ran across a 1930 NLB alto. It's lacquer has seen better day, and good use a good overhaul. I'll add it to my list of horns to work on.
