Jean-Marie Londeix classical technique

I'm interested in getting hold of some material by Jean-Marie Londeix

In particular "Hello Mr Sax" (Parameters of the Saxophone)-
The "saxophone bible" (has examples of notation, and extensive fingering charts for possible microtones, multiphonics, altissimo, etc.)- which I am told is very good.

Does anyone have experience of his work? and where is the best place to obtain these books. (your Amazon connection Pete?)

If anyone has worked with these methods, I'd be interested in your feedback.

What's it like? Heavy duty classical technique book, solid reference; french and english text.

Is it the kind of 'tome' that requires an MA in technique, or something that a mere mortal could wade through and get value from without a mentoring master to demonstrate the exercises?

Don't be misled by the 'My Happy' reference in the title... 😉

It's the kind of tome that if you work your way through it you'll qualify for an MA in Technique. Think Otto Langey's book but with more charts and a french flavour...

hmm. Might see if the library has one 😉 find out what I'm unleashing first. But knowing me, I'll probably end up ordering it Si.

Still interested to hear if anyone has worked with it tho.

I second Simon on Eric's book, it's one for the gym, hundreds of work outs to make you sweat, mine has been well used and is now dog eared.

Be careful getting involved in the classical sax department, I found out this morning there's still a war going on between the followers of Mule and Rascher. Londeix studied with Marcel Mule so watch out if you start playing his exercises in public.
