Intonation Is my sax in tune?

OP,
If you move the mouthpiece, when it's on the horn, hold the neck with one hand.
Otherwise, two things will get pulled down.
The Neck and your Rand count. 🙁

That is not in the slightest bit true. Have you ever played a clarinet? Flutes are pretty close though.
I think clarinets may be more in tune than saxophones. I have no evidence to back up that statement though. maybe because out of the box the mouthpiece fits on the barrel in a specific place. With a saxophone there are no clues for the beginner where on the cork a mouthpiece should be.

You can pitch your sax and yourself with a pitch fork. A = 440 Hz or other forks forks if you want to tune lower or higher. A grand piano in Sweden used to be tuned higher than normal pitch (A=440 Hz). A=443 Hz is pretty common. Sometimes you must forget the "normal" and trust your own ears. A semi step when you are bending and scooping is much. If you bend down or press up a quarter step you have a great embouchure.

Hi, I have a white Korg TM50 like the one in the pic. I shall try it and do a few tests starting with G and check up and down. I'll give feedback in a day or two. Thanks ...
Hi all, so it is a TM40 but still a chromatic tuner and it worked well. I had to push in about 1cm. The Cork is now not visible, well a little slither can be seen but at least it is now in tune. I tuned to the G being more in the middle.
Thanks to all for your help

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
