Beginner Is it safe to play outdoors, perhaps in extreme weather conditions?

I used to go out into the countryside and practise in my car, when I was even more awful than I am now....warm, dry and not too anti-social.,
I wonder if Ken.... a long unheard-from member ..... is still practising on his Costa Blanca hillside ....

If you intend to play out doors then do what lots of professional string players do and buy a cheap instrument just for that purpose.
A £250 sax left out in the rain will still be worth the same .
A Mark VI won't

Definitely avoid the rain as the pads all swell up and you could drown if it fills up!
That's why our noses are designed that way too ,!

My Keilwerth SX90R alto (bought in 2000) has been played in rainstorms and blizzards. It didn't seem to mind (but I did).

You may want to check the weather forecast before doing so. :)
