Hi everyone

I'm looking to buy my first tenor saxophone and was hoping for some advice if poss.
The two I've narrowed it down to are a second hand but really cheap Elkhart Series II
or a new John Packer JP042v.
Please help!

FWIW...looking at the Packer website....I see two Tenors available which are likely better than the Packer you are considering (the Yama 280, and the used Jupe).
So, if it was price point which was your main consideration....your 900 quid can get you more than the new Packer, very likely.

You can post a separate thread from this 'inroduction' one if you wish to solely discuss your Tenor search, or as Jeanette said, just peruse similar discussions on 'which sax to buy'.

If you can afford it, I would go for the Packer 242 rather than the 042.
It’t a better-made Taiwanese instrument.

Thanks all. After much researching I'd pretty much decided which to go for and then randomly bought something completely different . It's a Zetland custom super z. Can't wait to get practising. X
