Playing the saxophone Have you hooked up?

Seriously, if you're gonna hook up, be safe and be careful! All beings are friendly and spiritual (not physical) and we don't need any kind of transactional relationships, ever. That's how you love people without judgement or fear, and when you see them that way, it's liberating. You might also find that when you are this way, you can see through other people's shallowness and know when not to waste your energy because you know nothing good can come from it. :blonde:

As Jeanette mentioned, we have had some meet-ups in the UK, but roughly ten years ago now. Over the years, various regional groups of members have met on an informal basis. As ever, these things tend to come and go as people move on etc.

I've been on similar things for bass and they're just social occasions to chat, show off kit, and eat cake.

Anything more structured than that is a lot of work to set-up and organise.

In the long run all meetings must be structured. Coffee and cake is importnant but some guys drove or went by train for 1-1½ hour to honk sax. To justify thier efforts I tried to put in something more.

Once a year ( sometimes twice a year) Andrew Clark, Boston, was the "master of ceremonies". We also had a small rhythm band to back us. Otherwise we learned from each other. Music and music education here in Sweden can be too serious and too stiff. Rock 'n' Roll is more or less " to take it on the volley".

In answer to OP, nah but would it be worth having a topic or similar noticeboard type thing where we can advertise upcoming gigs etc? Maybe by area
So we can have a look and easily see what's about locally and so on

And probably why we shelved all that in favor of meeting up at the annual Symposium in Virginia. Folks do come from all over; not just the locals. European classical players are always featured as well. It is a ready made saxophone convention. And the price? Free. All of it.

Well, I clearly didn't look properly!
Thank you 😁
