Message: <blockquote data-quote="Grumps" data-source="post: 634119" data-attributes="member: 9954"><p>The dogs were the first thing we got before we even got up to our spot.  They're really fan-friendly at Nationals Park and they have a "Kids Eat Free" program.  Heck, even the little guy got a dog... that probably my son ate.  The cameras weren't mine, so I don't believe there's a money (hotdog) shot.  But what was REALLY COOL, was when me and my grandson were jumping up and down in the stands to song during an inning break and they put us on the JumboTron.  Seriously.  We made it!</p><p></p><p>With MLB, I'm actually more of an Oriole fan, though I'd always been with the Nats as my National League team since they moved from Montreal and play just down the road from us.  Now that American/National League distinction has been completely blurred.  Orioles didn't have a home game on the date in question anyway, but I don't go into Baltimore these days unless I absolutely have to for business.</p><p></p><p>There's trick to Nat's park that I haven't used in a while, but may do again if the Mrs. is willing as we had such a good time there.  And there is no doubt about it.  DC is great to visit now.  That hasn't always been the case, but it is currently back to being a national treasure; and much safer to boot.  But anyhow, back to the trick...</p><p></p><p>They have seats behind the plate that go for crazy money that includes a quality pregame buffet with alcohol included.  They'll also bring practically anything you want, to your seat.... all included.  That's beers.  That's ice cream.  That popcorn.  And yes, hotdogs!  And the buffets are open during the game and feature treats as well.  You tip them a buck or two for every visit to your seat and they'll keep coming back all game.  So what's the trick?  They have to be out of contention, it can't be a weekend and the visiting team has to stink.  Then those crazy money seats come down in price on Stubhub and you can have a really, really nice night at the Park for almost regular seat pricing.  One time I did this with my son and we sat in the first row behind the plate.  And yeah...we were on TV the whole time.</p></blockquote><p></p>
