Sounds like a great first lesson, you’re on the road to less squeaking and more speaking (of the musical language) - a word of warning though, it is very easy to get good, easy to get very good but insanely difficult to become excellent. Notice how I used get and “become.”

My tutor said something along those lines at my lesson. "If you want it be passable play a tune until you can play it without mistakes, if you want to become good, play them until you are fluent and if your want to become great play them a thousand times more until you can play them in your dreams."
