Music on the other hand is "I didn't like that yesterday, but I do today.

Give me a diagram any day.

I had a very interesting discussion, after several beers, with a retired microbiologist, who has never learned to drive, on suck squeeze bang blow. A diagram would have helped.

I'd have thought most scientists have got used to that and just accept it.

Accept it? Sure. But that doesn't mean that we have so little a sense of humor that we cannot laugh at the laughable.

P.S., FWIW, and OBTW: As a scientist, I remain ever amused by people talking about science as if they know something about it.

I found that applied to the 'science' teachers at school and then scientists themselves only know what they think they know until they know something else.

Finally something we agreed about.

Edit: Real scientists laugh together not at things or people we don't understand. That's for little people.
