I just got a new sax (Congratulations to me) =DD worked whole summer to buy this one =) now I'm hapy as I can be =)

But there is a lil trouble here....I just can't adjust mouthpiece so deep, to get the clean note =)...it takes a lot of physical power to move it further...I can adjust the m.p. that came with the sax, but as for my old good one, I just can't...any ideas?

p.s. yes, I'm usin' the cork grease

2 things, one easier than the other.

Easy= sand the cork down. Make sure you mask off the nice new shiny neck or you''l damage the lacquer. Wrap a piece of fine sanpaer round (probably best to remove as much grease as possible first, then sand the cork down, checking the fit as you go along. The new mouthpiecec will of course be too lose.

Not so easy = wrap the sandpaper round your finger and sound down the inside shank of mouthpiece. This will take a long time.

A good tech will be able to machine this maybe, but be very careful.
