Hi,
I've already posted this in the Sax (mpc, reeds, ligatures) forum - but probably incorrectly as it should have gone here. Pete has already been very helpful. Anyway, here is the original post:
I'm looking for a great repairman to help me. I have a Conn Connqueror 26M alto that needs the original pads putting back (well most of them). It was repadded earlier this year (on possibly bad advice). The horn was awful after the repad and I managed to get them to repad it with ring pads for nothing. The ring pads were present when I bought the horn. Before it was repadded the volume was amazing (why did I let them repad it - sob, sob) now it is no better than a good 6M.
Fortunately, I still have the original Gordon Beeson dished pads and want them put back in. I think I need a craftsman of the highest order.
Suggestions gratefully received. I'm in Birmingham but prepared to take the horn almost anywhere for a good job.
Many thanks.
