Ligatures claude lakey compass ligature .....

A lifetime guarantee means that there is no set limit to the time to make a claim for a defect in materials or manufacture, but how long it lasts depends on what it is and how it is used by the buyer.
It doesn't mean it lasts for the lifetime of the buyer.

correct but it means a very long time, in ligature terms this might be considered aver 25 years since we have ligatures of 100 years still performing satisfactorily

I think I geddit

Zootensax can claim for replacement...

Once he's dead?

Have just been on to the Claude Lakey website and found a list of their official authorised retail outlets. The best price is from the Spanish retailer - under 30 Euros (£21). Delivery is extra but still under any price I could find available from any other retailer. It did not show any authorised/official retailer for the UK.

Tried it.
Ignored.
Probably in the wrong country.

I had a quick response from them - when they didn't hear back from Howarth's (where I purchased lig, and from whom the upgrade should have been sent), they sent it direct to me themselves. Might be worth contacting them again, or Howarth's if that's where you got yours.

Hi Prof

In the UK you can get these from Howarth's. Great service.

Hello I think I may have discovered a design fault, I'm on my second compass ligature, having originally purchased one from Howarths, sadly it broke less than a month after I bought it so, I contacted Howarths and they very kindly sent me a replacement, now less than a year latter this has started to crack in the same place as the first! And I'm at a loss to know why, maybe plastic is not strong enough for this application? It's not be used a great deal purely because it actually didn't fit many of my mouthpieces (even my Claude Lakey )

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
