A giant among men in more ways than one. Apparently a thoroughly nice chap with a great sense of humour!
He's gonna teach the Angels a thing or two about percussive Harp playing!
Mind you - he also wrote the song "Love is Stange" so a bit more that a one chord trick!!

Very sad. One of the first records I got was a Bo Diddley/Chuck Berry EP. And those 'one-chord' tricks (with full trem and reverb) could be real wrist-achers! At least these days people live on, for us, in their recordings. I read somewhere that Bo was also an accomplished Chicago style piano player ... I never knew that before.

Certainly not putting down the one-trick wonder - if you can say it that way, why not! I never knew he was also an ivory-tickler either.

Always remember a great put down of an overly flash sax player by a violinist I once knew- "how many notes do you actually need to say whatever it is you have to say?"... that one always stuck with me, very un-jazz, but very Bo Diddley!

Indeed, Jules, channeling the spirit of Miles - not too many notes, intersting phrases, plenty of thinking spaces in between. Only trouble is, I get in with rock and rollers and get a bit excited!!

By the way, Miles was so cool the only surgery he ever had was a hip operation :laugh:
