Theory & Impro B7b7 - Flattened 7th in a Dominant 7th?

To hook up, with a Snook, is an electric reel in my furure?

I

I think the issue was about whether or not being enharmonically correct is important. There are two sides to that argument and I understand the value in each POV. But not really the same as semantics in my opinion. But I have been known to be wrong of course.
But enharmonic spelling wasn’t really relevant at all in terms of the original question.

The G# in the opening post, was what I corrected.
A self confessed opinionated grump, started another page.
One that uses the word, "abhor", with respect, to writing out jazz solos, to allow beginners to get melodic. 🙀

Talking crap and utter crap, is so juvenile.
A more adult and for a better musical flow, it could be, udder nonsense. 🐄
Nothing I wrote was to be "clever".
Just answering questions.
Even if something does not exist, in chord structure, the spelling should be correct.
Unicorns do not exist, but are drawn correctly.
Try drawing an electron.
Humor, from the philosophy of science. 😵‍💫

The problem is you corrected the wrong thing. G# had every place in the chord. Ab had no place. But the idea of the G# being a seventh
was the problem.

"does the b7 in B7b7 mean the 7th is flattened again to give B D# F# G#?"

No matter how many times you flat or sharp the 7th, in a B chord, it should be a form of A, not G.
Even if that chord does not exist.
Adios, have fish to catch tonight. 🎶🏴‍☠️🎶

Oh what a storm in teacup!

I thought it meant a double flattened 7th in B, even though it didn't make sense and seeing the Eb chord of F#7b9 wondered if it was a mistake.
My second error was to write the enharmonic G# rather than Ab, even though said chord doesn't exist.
My third error was not checking with the MD first!

Now please stop arguing :clapping:

Maybe we need a new thread to discuss the advantages/importance (or not) of getting enharmonics correct.
I've now started that discussion and moved relevant posts across as it is a whole topic by itself and this thread seems to have been resolved.

Can we also have one on the relevance of technical details that are completely irrelevant in the context of an initial question?
Of course you can, but it might work better in the context of a more general thread about posting policy and forum etiquette. I think it's definitely not a good idea to continue about it in this thread.
