Vandoren V16 Ebonite for Tenor

Pete,
I have just read on "Sax on the Web" your entry for 30th May regarding the Vandoren Java A45 for Alto. Would you therefore also recommend the equivalent T75 ebonite for Tenor or T55 with the longer facing? Just a thought . . .

Hi Stan!

I am aware the V16 tenor ebonite comes in different sizes to the Java/Jumbo Java - T7 to T10 - with the smallest tip being slightly larger than a T75. The Metal V16 tenor has equivalent sizes to the Java - I play a T77 in metal - just to confuse the issue.

I've not played a V16 tenor ebonite but use a V16 ebonite on alto (excellent - a 7m) and a V16 metal on tenor (also excellent - as above). I imagine it would be excellent, and the T7 and T8 are both long facing, the T9 and T10 are medium long.

Good luck, and certainly worth a try, having played the metal.
