Mouthpieces New Vandoren V16 metal...

Hello,

I've been reading about the new Vandoren V16 metal and it seems a good alternative to all these outrageously expensive boutique mouthpieces from over the pond. It comes in three chamber sizes, small, medium and large. The small chambered one seems to be the closest to the old metal Vandoren, although it has scooped out side chamber walls. I used to have the old V16 T75 which was a good mouthpiece but the new version sounds a little more full sounding up top.

Here are some clips I found with players using it:

The old metal V16 has to be compared with the new "small chamber" version (of the V16 metal pieces).

They had two models (other than the "small chamber"): "medium chamber" (which should be the nearer to a common Otto Link "Super Tone Master") and "large chamber" (more like an old Otto Link "Tone Master").

They are quite expensive though...

Cool!
The external shape fits good for many standard lig for metal tenor Otto Link: Selmer 404, FL Ultimate and Rovner size 3ML/L13.

Vandoren sometimes used to make strange external shapes for mouthpieces (think the V16 soprano mouthpiece)... to sell their ligatures.
