Buescher or not. The anserwer is engraved on te bell. "The Wurlitzer American" made by Rudolph Wurlitzer Co, Cincinnati, Chicago. According to the engraving on the bell is not made Buescher!!!! It's made by Rudolph Wurlitzer Company!?!?!

Afik Wurlitzer didn't make any saxes. Just had their names on saxes from other makers. It'd be good to have this confirmed as made by Wurlitzer. But I'm sceptical, cos if they really did make saxes I think there's be some info out there. Maybe they assembled from Beuscher parts?

Exactly. But what constitutes made by? And how honest is the inscription, especially considering the country if origin.

But this is why it's interesting, it may be that web lore is wrong and that Wurlitzer did make saxes...

The only maker that I know of which used flanged tone holes was York, I suspect this was made by York for Wurlitzer. But I may be wrong, as often the case. But take a look at these pics and description: York Tenor Sax
