What tends to happen here is that most saxes go to snipers. An occasional one gets through at a low price, but there seem to be a few specialists (dealers?) who just look at what's going, set the sniping software and forget it.

Pointless exercise getting excited now.

I just thought it seemed a bit of a bargain for anyone reasonably local to it, though as you know, I buy them and I also use a sniper..sorry, but only because I am always rush rush rush and forget about things...ole timers again!

Yes, but then it bids for you, early, and allows others to expose your strategy. If you look at the bidding history of most sax sales here, most of the serious bids on desireable saxes go on in the last few seconds.

I used to put low bids in on all these items. Never had one work on a desireable sax. I've always had to bid too high. I've given up now.

yes but the auto bid is a system for you not to bid over your budget and still be in the game and if it goes beyond that so be it.

Bidding at the last second is exciting but it does not insure you get the item you want for the price that you want and you cannot beat the auto bid function this way.

Even whilst using a sniper I have lost more times than I can remember, sometimes if I just wait, I may become lost in the bidding frenzy and bid more than I wanted to, so I prefer to use the sniper at the price I am happy with, if I do not win it then I just wait until another hopefully comes along.. and sometimes it can be a year or two!

Spot on! Place a bid and forget it, if it works it works if it doesn’t it doesn’t.

Trouble is the late bidding/sniping is pushing prices up as people get obsessed with winning, not with realistic prices. Good for sellers, but not buyers. This is why I'm moslty out of it. Prices are too high.

I don’t buy much on ebay because the best deals are in the USA but then I get punished with high shipping fees and custom and handling through custom fees.

However, if I do the autobid is my way to go.

This horn will go much higher still.

They cost 1500€ in a shop.
