gettin rinsed for session work...

who else has fallen into the trap of not signing a contract and getting rinsed out of your fee as well as all your expenses for session work?
i have just had this misfortune and around christmas this is an appalling time for me.

I once did a session for the band Bad Manners and never got paid. I rang the guy up and he just laughed saying "sue me then".

Mostly though I got paid.

Sorry about this - but, if someone laughed at my request for payment and said "sue me" - I'd kneecap the ****! (Sorry but that's just me)
A mate of mine once put in a PA for bad manners (no respect so no capitals) and they broke it badly. The Fat Boy would still live in fear of my mate if he had any sense!!

I did some session work for free as a favor to a mate, so I can't say I got rinsed but then the track never got released on the EP anyway.

The band are pretty good, 'friends of the bride'
check them out on myspace, but their best tracks have been saved for the album. Not sure who the sax player on some of those clips are.

I can't say I advocate violence, Paul, but I know where yer coming from. I've always been in favour of majorly inconveniencing 'the ****' as the psychological scars can last a lot longer. Frinstance, the old tyre-slashing routine, but it has to be all of them

I agree with OG, and Bobby...

[I was very tempted to take a tyre-iron to the vehicle of my former dog-trainer who announced that he was about to go to S Africa, taking the whole class's...and presumably all his clients'.... pre-paid fees with him... In my case it was about 100 Euros 😡
Instead I got in touch with 'doggy' & other friends in SA to arrange a 'welcoming committee' 😉 ]
