Baritone sax stand

Hi Folks

I have just bought a new Bari and I am looking for a stand for it. Any recommendations. I was thinking of the Hercules! as it is a good price and looks stable. Or do you know different?

Saxrax make the best stands I've ever seen. Bit more pricy, but worth it.

Don't Scrimp, cheaper designs can damage and scratch you new investment.

I had a disaster with a stand that folded up with my sax on it. I think that I didn't tighten the thumb screw enough. So, my fault. I bought a Dixon stand from a local music store and it cannot fold up with the instrument in place. I've had a look at the Hercules and it seems to be the folding type. I'm through with folding stands.

If you have any worries about a stand marking a sax put some extra lagging on it.

The thing to remember about baritones is that they are top heavy and easily knocked over. Your low A baritone will be even more unstable than mine, I think. Get the best stand you can afford and start enjoying that monster.

Those Saxrax stands look the business, the Rosetti stand I got was pants, my 2 year old pulled it straight off the stand damaging the aux side C.

The Hurcules looks okay for gigging though, if you want to travel light.

i have a sax rax for my bari..i think they make 2 models, i have the one that you can play the sax on the stand. a bit pricey but so much worth it i have sax rax for each and every one of my saxes

I had a K&M, reasonable as long as you keep the bari out of the way of clumsy drummers (stick it between the guitar amps in my case)- but it has fallen apart after about 3 years gigging it.

I have a purpose built stand that holds all my saxes and clarinet and flute at home, but its really for gigging and teaching at school. I think the Hercules may be the purchase when pay day gets here.
