Mouthpieces New DM Sharkbite, (gold plated metal mouthpiece)

Hi all, just bought the above mouthpiece from ebay for ?27 new. Cap and lig are um...poor shall we say, turned out to be 7 a bit bigger than I expected but what a sound its lovely and that's with my poor playing. Its a real "woody" sound not sharp, but not fuzzy, just about right. Has tendency to squeak when I run out of puff but thats me and practice will fix that I'm sure.

They gold plated over some of the lighter machining marks on the inside and the edges where the reed fits rather than polish them out but they are very very light and for ?27 who cares?

Northants hay, I'm in Chaventry as we like to call it!

I got one of these for the same money, for alto, likewise the cap destroyed the reed when I fitted it.

I didn't like the tone or the feel of the thing in my mouth, so its stayed in the case where no doubt it shall stay until its little atoms give up thier hold on this life!

As you say ?27 later and no damage done.

You don't want a back up mouthpiece do you? .......Just kidding

Have you been to the mardis gras jazz club at the ex service mans club?. Looks good, just never actually got around to going over. Still one day..... Rushden to Chaventry isn't a long run.

Anyhoo, I agree about the feel, its going to take some getting used to as its alot smaller/harder and colder (didn't expect that) than my others.

Yeh I know what you mean about the cold, its wierd my Berg Larson never felt cold even when I'd just picked it up.
