Mouthpieces ?1000 mouthpiece?

There is a Dave Guardala studio tenor mouthpiece on ebay for ?995 + ?10 P+P. Is this really where we are at with m/p's? Seems a bit steep.

It's unfortunate isn't it?

I don't mind that some pieces have an appreciating collectors or just plain desirable value but these things have rocketed in the last few years beyond sensible figures and it's now unjustifiable for most of us to make such purchases.

I think one or two sellers of second hand saxes and mouthpieces have succesfully 'hyped' their goods to a worldwide market on the web including Ebay since about 2001. Because those prices have been shared worldwide knowledge, EVERYONE wants that kind of money now!

I think it was the ?10 postage that got me as much as anything :laugh: I've got no problem with people charging what they think they can get away with but ?10 on top of ?995 just seems festivly Scrooge like 😛
