I think a lot of people forget what a great acoustic pianist Chick Corea really was, with his jazz-rock fusion stuff probably more popular, and what more can you say about Steve Gadd - the man can play anything, Bob Berg a great tenor player, a pity he died so young, Eddie Gomez - always excellent playing...

I have recently been listening to lot of Bob Berg's music with Randy Brecker and the great Mike Stern...

So true. It took me 10 years to realize I liked CC. I never really could connect to the rather « icy » synthesizer years (Return to Forever) and rediscovered him with his acoustic 4tets with Joe Farrell or Michael Brecker. Actually the trio above, with other sax players.
I recently tried to listen to his later work with the Elektric Band, and again, zap. Not for me.
Doc, do I have a problem with synths ?
The 4tet above is amazing indeed.
Doc, mostly minor mode, is life really that dark ?
