Can you believe it? I've recently had 3 problems playing: -a 'squeaky' high G (which my sax repairer played perfectly and suggested that I needed to adjust my emcboure - a 'sticking G#' which I usually manage to resolve (based on internet advice of drying the right pad) - a much too sharp high "E", which I today discovered was actually an "F"; I'd just basically forgotten how to play a high E :( On the last point, before e-mailing my sax repairer or posting a 'help! question on the cafe, I quickly googled 'palm keys and high notes' and found the 'reminder video' below from Saxophone Masterclass which I found useful. I don't want to 'recommend' (or commend) this channel (there are so many!). But I browsed through a few video's and it seems pretty solid on 'the basics' (and embellishments) of playing sax. As always, personal tutoring is always best for beginners. But I liked this YouTube channel in terms of its many' free lessons and downloads' for beginners, and the clarity and pace of the 'sax improvement' videos. Of course, you can sign up for an on-line course but these 8-20 minute video's weren't intended purely as 'clickbait'. A couple of years ago (as an ex guitarist) , I was looking around for YouTube channels/on-line courses that would help me play bass guitar better. I finally settled on just 2 YouTube channels. Just because the balance of their YouTube (and free downloadable) content and teaching style appealed most to me. For one of them I signed up for a (paid) course. For the other, I made a donation. Looking back, Saxophone Masterclass has the same kind of balance between good (free) content and downloads and good teaching style that attracted me to me 2 online 'bass playing' tutors.
