Yanagisawa 991 Soprano Saxophone £1850.00 or offers,and 5% to Petes charity.

If your thinking of buying new, buy this one instead and save ££££££ (£2,775.00 new)
This lovely sop is in pristine condition you would be hard pushed to see any difference between this one and a new one!
The tone is to die for, and it sounds fantastic if you are playing classical or jazz (depending on the appropriate mouth piece of course)
The date of manufacture is Sept. 2009
As you can see from the pics, there is very little (if any) wear, look at the pads, corks and felt! It really is like a new instrument and I have looked after it like my little baby!
Comes with its official case and long, detachable carrying strap and 2 keys, 2 necks/crooks (straight and curved.) A Yamaha 4c mouthpiece which I find very user friendly, and was my preferred M.P. A pack of assorted M.P. cushions. A box of assorted reeds incl. 1 Fibracell. Neckstrap. Cork grease. A good quality B.G.pullthrough. A main body pad-saver.
My reason for selling, is because new Alto forces regrettable sale.

I would prefer pick-up only, or to meet up perhaps, I just dont trust postage with such a valuable instrument.

so is nick now selling an older model yani sop?

No.

I've had it 30 years. It's probably the only sax I have a vague sentimental attachment to. When I came down to your place a few years ago and came away with the Keilwerth Shadow tenor I thought I might get a sop as well. The only one that I liked as much as the old S6 was a Yanag 991. The tuning and ergonomics were better but I couldn't justify the expense at the time. I still can't - but what the hell.

Congratulations, enjoy your lovely shiny posh soprano (envy grrrr), and when you finally come to your senses and realise that you need to sell it again (at an even bigger discount of course) please let us know. ;}

What an encouraging thread I could not raise £1200 for the exact same thing so put it back in the cupboard. I even tried the Bari mouthpiece to see if I could persuade myself to play it but that just made it worse so put that in the drawer where I keep my many whims.
