Just leave it fella.I'm a Z man really.I love them but keep selling them !!!!!!!!!!! got a very niceeee Yanagisawa bronze 992 tenor till i find my dream Z so i'll cope.

Good too see the sound of class has finally reached your ears Davey>:) Enjoy the new 992..

Chris..

I still want a Z also though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have ya cake and eat it i say.Forgot you blew the 992.Best 1 i ever played was a lads pair of 992 UL's when they were very 1st made.Well to tell the truth he special ordered a UL alto and tenor from Yani.He had/has the 1st bare bronze 992's in the UK.Last time i tryed his tenor was about 9 or 10 years back and it looked very cool with that bronze patina. There state of the art for sure.

ok i will not ask him if you are sure.....but i will probably see if he has a Z anyway :)

So to recap i'm still looking for a Z tenor,a ZUL or silver plated.Could trade also,Yani bronze 992 for your Z.

I'm sorted with a monster silver plated 62 tenor, all ends well.
nice 1 best you got that cos i literally today in Oslo just test run a couple of custom Z for you and they are no where near as good as the purple logo 62 for the price difference ratio, basically the same mechanically except the low BFlat mechanism but with a noticably less brighter sound and less projection, still a good sax but purple 62 is way better value overall...

Selmer ref 36
Yam 62 original
modern 62 gold lac
modern 62 silver plate

could of blew loads of more yams, black 1's.Sold out of UL .Traded in my 992.I was short on cash to pick my choice of a silver Z so in the end I tested the 62's and the new silver 62 is HUGE sounding. It just soars.I had a couple of 62 purple altos and a purple 62 tenor years ago and forgot how good they are.Not much in it between the Z's and 62's.The new 875EX yams are nice but not as big as the Z/62's I find.Like I've said many times yam have the best key board going.Superslick.I went with another Z in my sights but i'm well happy with this 62.Looks stunning also.My last Z was silver also.Di I mention how HUGE of a monster it sounds !!!!!!!!!! Nice to be back in the Yamaha club.Overall it was a great fun day and my new yam is up on the wall stand looking veryyyyy nice.

Davey - great to hear you are full circle and back to the '62! I have a purple logo '62 tenor that i have owned for past 30 yrs, fantastic horn that just seems to get better & better with age. My first proper horn, and I reckon it will always be, inspite of the back up of the '61 (oh, and my RAW!)
