Mouthpieces Who is Anton at Dawkes?

Whereas Matt and Sam at Dawkes have previously fallen over themselves to be super helpful, I spoke to Anton today about whether the Windcraft Student and Etude Tenor MPs are the same diameter and if the Rico lig I purchased from them to fit the former would fit the latter as I was looking to purchase one. He really couldn't be bothered.

A few weeks ago Sam went off to find a lig which fitted the fatter Student MP and phoned me back having test fitted many and found the Rico for me. Maybe I've been spoilt?

I'm guessing Anton's the boss/owner?

Professor Anton Weinberg works part time at Dawkes as a mouthpiece maker and doing modifications. I have bought two of his own sax mouthpieces and he has also modified another two for me. Really excellent pieces and he is also very interesting to talk to.

I guess there aren't likely to be two Antons at Dawkes, but the behaviour you describe doesn't sound at all like my own experience of Anton Weinberg, or indeed anyone at Dawkes. Maybe you caught him at a difficult time.

Anton Weinberg is a mouthpiece specialist and he makes mouthpieces - I would have thought that He would be the one that would be best able to answer your question!

I've spoken to him a couple of times and he seemed fine to me. maybe he was having a stressful day. No excuse tho IMHO.

Dawkes owner actually works most of his time in Maidenhead - forget his first name as I normally deal with Sam or Matt. Anton is the specialist mouthpiece guy who was really helpful for me. Very unusual for anyone in Dawkes to be arrogant.

No, I wouldn't say he was arrogant. I was expecting him to say "Well let me just go and try the ligature you have on an Etude and then we'll know for sure." Instead, he said it would probably fit and when I explained more he still didn't make me feel any more confident. I'll ask for Sam tomorrow, no worries.
