I'm keen to play with some other musicians and there are three jam sessions within pretty easy reach of where I live in Milton Keynes. Has anyone attended any of these or can you suggest any alternatives please?

MK Jam scene

Winslow, Bucks Jam session

Woburn, Beds Jam session

Walnut Tree/Blisworth. Northants Jam session

Update..........

I've since been to Winslow (now at the Black Boy, Oving) and Woburn. Both have their merits but I prefer Woburn.

Blisworth is just 5 minutes from where I work. I'll find out details of the session. The 3 of us that form the Daventry Massif could well be interested in that. But then Woburn isn't too much of a mission either.

Cheers

Hi Bill

I never managed to get to Blisworth. The Woburn session was really great, very friendly people though there was the unbiquitous 'only a Mk6 will do' chap who was rather scathing about my Mauriat! Good pleayer though.

Of course, I am rubbish, I can barely improvise 'properly' but I loved it.

The other session (Winslow), they were were less organised and the only 2 tunes I knew, one they played in a different key and the other they played really fast. I shan't go back there. I'll pm you my mobile number - we should hook up. I think Taz was also interested.

I just looked at the Walnut Tree website - and it's not too promising. Sessions on "Folk and Acoustic", "Old Time and Bluegrass", and "New Music". Not sure where we would fit in there, but I'll wander round one lunchtime and find out.

I can't believe anyone would be so narrow-minded to be scathing about a Mauriat!! I can only imagine the disdain with which he would regard my Cannonball........
