Does anyone know anything about a Wheatstone violin?
A friend brought one from France and took it to a restorer to make it playable including, appropriately, a new bridge.
He said it seemed to be quite a good model maybe up to100 years old, but they can't find anything out about it.

Wheatstone was a well known maker of concertinas - C Wheatstone & Co. Haven't ever heard of a Wheatstone violin though.. might be worth asking the question over here

www.fiddleforum.com - lots of very knowledgeable people there on all things violin :)

Wheatstone claimed to be the inventor of the concertina but which system. Like Filton never knew he made anything else except the Wheatstone Bridge but maybe that is the joke?

Hmmm!!!, didn't know you where into electronics OG..

a wheatstone also invented a bridge.. probably not the same one..

That takes me back to A Level physics practicals...(gulp.... that's now a third of a century ago:crying:
