What's happened?

Mike Smith Group, not Mike Smith Quartet Chicago, formerly Ginger tunes played Cherokee at a local gig. Inspired as I was I couldn't manage to get it right at the tempo I wanted to play it. So...what to do...Change the title...simples. So here we have Smoke Signals. I thought the laptop was suffering from lag, most frustrating. Turned out not to be computer lag. Brain lag...that's what it was.

One of my 2 Big Bands played a short (45 minute) concert at a local event a couple of weeks ago and one of the other musical performances was a great jazz duet. The tenor sax player doubled on vocals. It was the first person I'd heard other than you to do this!

You may have a mix of USB 2and 3 ports
I'm a Macianer and at least two of my machines have a mix of USB 2 and USB 3 bus ports.
I have to watch out when plugging in a USB device whether it's USB2 or 3 compatible.

Sleeping on it and something has happened to this one. I should stop overthinking things. Gypsy jazz and saxophone? Head says no. However listening to the Ray Noble original and trying to hear the middle bit it became apparent as to what's intended and the phrasing becomes relevant to what I was thinking and somehow the gypsy jazz feel echoes those beats in the early 20c film representation of Native American music. It seems to be saying wampum wampum wampum wampum. And what happened to the saxophone? Morning tone?

At a recent gig the management wanted Light jazz but the customers liked thr R'nRoll. I've been pushing buttons like mad on Biab and come up with two more rock'n rollers. Or is it rockabilly? I'm not good with genre's. They seemed to go down well at the open mic. A bit of clapping, some beers and a potential booking.

Something has happened recently that I'm at a loss to identify. My recordings used to be a bit hit and miss sound wise. Just lately they all seem to be coming out very satisfactory. Sax and voice seem to be captured clearly.

I've been sticking to a USB condenser that I bought used and very cheaply because I wanted the case for another mic. I noticed recently that the Laptop wasn't recognising the mic every time so I decided to use a different usb socket. Can the USB socket affect sound capture?

I've been meaning to re arrange this backing track for ages and finally got round to it today. I seem to be on a lucky streak at the mo. BiaB is working better than ever, the Rico reserve reeds are performing well, the mic is great, Alto is playing in tune, Voice is booming, cough has gone...Any way here's today's effort.
