Hi all. Just a chance. The Rico Royal I bought is too close for a softish reed. Gonna stick with a weedyish reed for now so need a bit of a bigger mpc. Somewhere in the 090 area I reckon. Anyone got anything? I get on well with Vandoren but the V16 is 250 quid and I just got mugged by number 3 son and anyway, mustn't spend too much. What have you? If I buy anything I will pay up the 5% to the charity and postage to Spain. No risk, I have never, ever lost anything in the Spanish post, and I get a lot of parcels and packages. If anything does go astray it will be my loss.

Look in the cupboards and lemme know.
Ta

Try a rico metallite m5. Cheap and powerful. From what i understand you bought a rico graftonite. Royals are reeds.

Afik the graftonites were marketed as royals for a while.

Sorry guys, this prolly isn't the place for a discussion but it is a Royal B5. I have seen metallite on e bay, have heard good things, not dear, if nothing forthcoming on here in a day or two, that is my next move.
Thanks
Mike

090 as a wider piece? On a bari that would be an extremely narrow mouthpiece, and narrower than your current one. The graftonite B5 is 0.100. If you want somethign a bit wider give a metalite M7 a go. They work great on bari in my expereince - I have one as a back up mouthpiece. IOpeining is 0.110, which is medium on a bari.

Cripes thank goodness you spotted that. I was thinking tenor, hadn't thought at all about bigger tips for baris.
Thanks

Thanks. Going to go for the Metallite. I quite like the Royal, it feels good, but it isn't right.
So, still of interest if you have something brilliant and cheap in the bari mpc line, but meanwhile am going to order the Rico.
Cheers all

Hey,

I have a V16 B5 and a Yanagisawa Metal 7 for sale.
I switched to a B7.
I would sell it for €165,- including a Ligature (it comes without) shipping to UK and contribution to the fund.

Cheers,
Guenne

Hi Guene. Thanks for the response but I would go for the B7 myself. Also, its more than I want just at present. I will have to spend some proper money soon, but I am waiting till I get it back from the check over and till I know it a bit better. I guess I was really hoping someone would say they had a Vandoren V16 B7, unwanted gift, sell for 60 quid. You never know. Well, you do I suppose, but as a north country lass once said to me, God loves a trier.
Thanks anyway
Mike
