I'm in search of a vintage (c. 1950's) Selmer Soloist C** for an alto. The stamping should be on the table, not the body.

Got it! It's being shipped out tomorrow to Newcastle upon Tyne where some friends will get it to me in Vietnam via Berlin. Thanks so much for the heads up, Colin. I was scouring eBay, but never thought to look on their UK site. Important mental note for next time.

I suspect the seller shilled the price up on me, and I'm kind of annoyed, but also just happy to have found one. I'm going to leave this thread up though, as I'll happily buy any others I may come across.

Well done. It was a little expensive but by no means a rip off. It's a very popular Mp in a very popular size. I've seen them go for more and less. The original cap and lig will have interested collectors world wide. Now...when it arrives... don't drop it lol.

Indeed.

I am not unhappy with the price, as it is less than what I paid for my broken one, but I thought I was gonna get it for half that price until it magically went up by 60 pounds on two separate occasions. I'm thrilled to have the original cap and lig, that's a bonus 🙂.

I may send the broken one off to get fixed and see what happens. I have been taking a crash course in mouthpieces and repair/refacing this week.

And again, thanks a ton @Colin the Bear, true Jedi skills exhibited. Drinks on me if we ever cross paths.
