I picked up a couple of more saxes today and one is a "Borgani super",(other sax will have it's own thread) i know of the later models of Borgani but this looks like a 70's sax.
A little about the sax.
It has a strange looking neck, it has nice engraving in the bell saying "Borgani Macerata Italy" and where the join of the bell and bow is as the front it says "super", i take that might be the model number. Of course the picture in the link below show it before i do it up, i am going to delaq it by hand, fit new pads etc, anything that needs done. it actually plays from top to bottom as it is but will be a lot better with a service.

Can anyone tell me a little about this tenor sax and value before and after i service it or delacquer it too?
Thanks,

Ian

As you know I've had 4 Jubilee Borganis and the Ponzol borg they made before the jubilee is also a great pro horn. The Super is not there best by far for sure. As for price I would guess a few hundred maybe a tad more but not by much. It looks a nice sax and you never know who wants 1.

it is gonna look much better, i am delacquering it by hand like i did to my 62, just started and it looks amazing, a total transformation, just done the neck and a bit of the bell and it looks great, should boost the value up i reckon looking sweet, will post the finished results for ya when i am done.

Hey Ian, judging from photographs 11 and 12, you're getting quite a collection of horns...I suppose there is two options you'll either run out of money or run out of storage space...:)))

Great collection of horns though...:thumb:

indeed, i got some beauties and more to come next week. up to 9 saxes now and still accumulating, also 2 metal clarinets, 1 regular clarinet, never mind the keyboard and soon to be electric drum kit...i am scaring myself now....
our house is large enough, basement , loft, just me and Katherine here plus 1.5 acres and some outhouses so lots of room, so i 'need' more gear haha....

but being serious, not meaning to be showing off, i will be selling lots of stuff tho, got to be sensible about it...

Any uglies among the new arrivals?
to me the Borgani, at the moment is tired and ugly but will be sweet and pretty when i finished with it, i also just bought an ugly silver plated king tenor , 1920's , silver has gone black and needs full service, that i intend to do, again like with the Borgani i will do before and after pictures.
