Here's another video from my out door gig at Stanton lakes, with Dark Side of the Wall. No excuses for the bad sax playing I'm afraid!

:welldoneHey Taz, thanks for posting. Not being familiar with the tune I just checked it out on good old youtube and well, perhaps if the band gave you some more space then all would come good seems like on the version I just listened to there are at least a couple of sax solos with no vocals to compete with, then there are the sax fills.Overall I think you did a grand job.:welldone
Its all down to whoever arranges the tunes for you..But I am always on the side of the sax player;} once again thanks for posting the vid.

If you're looking for excuses, I would blame the distraction of the very short shorts immediately to your right! No bad sax playing there Pete - good stuff, especially lovely tone. The band is a bit busy though, specially the tinkly keys, but for a live recording, pretty good I thought.

You going down to Braunston to see The Blockheads tomorrow? They're on at 4, and it's free!

Well done, it was a lovely tone. I am going to be up there myself one day, I have promised myself. How much practice do you have to do together to get everyone doing the right thing at the right time? By the way, was it just me or did the sun go down while you were playing that?

Wow, a big thanks for all the kind comments, I didn't think it was that good, but them I'm my biggest critic! Mike, I think it was just wishful thinking, I don't think there was a lot of sun that day! I think that the tinkly keys, Bill, is probably down to the camera picking up different frequencies! It always picks up the sax and makes it sound louder than it really is in the mix!

(Ps, yes the shorts are distracting me, but it's a small price to pay! A musician has to do what a musician has to do ;})

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
