Further to my last thread on high note's, i'd tried everything, reed's, ligature's, emboucher, to no avail. I then went back to my Berg, and bingo sweet as a nut no squeak's. I'm now concentrating on overtone's, finding it quite difficult but will practice as much as possible.Managed to get up to altissimo D, quite an achievment for me. Thank's to everybody for previous advice.

Rob,

Who needs to play any higher than altissimo D?
Anyhow, good that you started on overtones. They will help everything about your sound, including altissimo.

Another thing you may try in terms of solidifying altissimo is to play simple diatonic melodies in that extreme high end of the horn. You'll start to "hear" the notes more clearly, and your body will get better at doing what needs to be done in order to produce these tones.

best of luck!
