Hi, this is a new video live in studio of my new project "Trisonic". (the album will be released in the next autumn).
The group is a trio with me on baritone saxophone, Pietro Ciancaglini on double bass and Andrea Nunzi on drums.
I wrote this song with a new orleans kind of groove in mind, so I entitled it "Down by the rhythm side".
I hope you enjoy it!
Just for instrument maniacs: I have a '45 Conn 12M saxophone, otto link slant mouthpiece refaced to '115, vandoren blue box reeds and francois louis pure brass lig, electrovoice RE20 mic through a neve preamp.
On the album used a Charter oak tube condenser mic.

@Caz : thank you, I haven't heard that expression before! With cafesaxophone I can keep in touch with other sax players from other countries and improve my english too!nice!
@Halfers thank you, Sometime ago I watched a video by Peter Erskine, now I don't remember the title. The video was about music in general, not focused specifically on drums. He explained that you can sound better playing few simple ideas but playing them well, rather than putting lots of ideas into the song and generate confusion. He thinks that in this way both the musicians and the listeners have something to "latch on", and this allow the musicians to "tell the story" of the tune they're playing.
I don't know if I managed to do that, but I couldn't agree more with Erskine.
The paradox is that the more you want to play simple the more you understand how difficult is to be simple!!!
