Like all genre's, some is great and some...not so much.

It does you good to get away from a comfort zone and the usual suspects. A bit of Texas swing lifts the soul. Some very good instrumentalists on the country scene. A different mind set thinking about simple melody, harmony and licks as opposed to progressing a b9 through a m7b5 to get back to a ****...what key we in?

years ago I played in a band that did a few real country songs weird playing country licks on a sax but the audience kept dancing and no one threw anything after my solos.
